The research outlines theory of plate tectonics as well as hypothesis of continental drift and sea-floor spreading, the unification of those formed plate tectonics. The research also represents explanation of Earth phenomena according to the theory. In the research there are described the main points of plates, their borders, lithosphere and asthenosphere. One of the important aspects of the research is to underline the fact that plate tectonics is the basis of current Geology. This work is focused on the forces maintaining plate relocation.
