Geographical distribution of the remains of chemical pesticides, including stable organic substances (Trans POPs) in the soils of agricultural plots of fields (on the example of Kakheti region)

Summary „Geographical spreading of residues of chemical pesticides, including organic substances (TransPOPs) in the soils of agricultural lands (on the model of Kakheti region)” Master’s Degree Program Student Salome Cherkezia The solution of the problematic issues of environmental protection is linked to the scientific, economic, social and political issues of some country. More and more pollutant substances are collected in several objects of environment, part of them does not take part in natural circulation and are accumulated in biosphere, causing in the non-desirable ecologic results. The paper describes the issues those making the threat for human health and environment. Early, Malaria was spread in Kakheti region, in particular in Lagodekhi and Kvareli regions, which stipulated using of DDT against it. Furthermore, the storages for different poison-chemicals and chemical fertilizers were spread at the whole territory of Soviet republic. Today, the mentioned storages do not exist anymore. There are the ruins instead of them, some old buildings have been repaired and used for living, for livestock, storage for cereals, etc. As for the residues of pesticides, they are scattered about around, is washed up or washed in the soil with surface or irrigation waters, from some places they are taken out in the special ground of Iagluja. In line with a lot of other pesticides, DDT is spread around as well, it is the acute poisoning and stable organic pollutant. The period for its semi-dissolution is 120 years, it is widely spread in the environment. So, the great attention is paid to the pollution with pesticides in the whole World. In addition, the preventive measures for the polluted environment, pollution of its components are examined in the paper.
