Annotation:
The work done by us in this semester was dedicated to study the bacteria E.coli and its growth phases, more precisely the last phase - death phase (Decline phase) and the metabolites that are generated during this process. We intended to find out what kinds of influence do these metabolites – mainly organic acids - have on the bacterial proliferation. The experiments showed that these metabolites, particularly Lactic acid, Formic acid and Acetic acid have a negative influence on bacterial proliferation. Moreover, the spectrophotometry enables us to ascertain that a relatively old bacterial broth containing these acids have got stronger negative influence on bacterial proliferation than a new one.
