Annotation:
The microenvironment of reverse micelles of polyoxyethylene(4)lauryl ether was investigated by Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. Methyl orange was used as molecular probe. Different influence of kosmotropic and chaotropic anions on the formation of free water in water core of reverse micelle was observed. The formation of free water in water core of reverse micelle begins at different water/surfactant ratio in the presence of perchlorate and iodide ions as compared with acetate and fluoride ions. The calculated values of association degree of methyl orange with reverse micelles in the presence of kosmotropic and chaotropic anions are also different.
