Geodemographic Processes in the Regions of Georgia

Annotation In the modern rapidly changing world, to study demographic process and demographic situation becomes more and more important. Geo-demographic situation represents some elements of population description on the given territory – birth, death, migration, established correlation. Their interactions determine certain structure of population and their quantitative dynamics. Geo-demographical situation shows an extensive image of demographical events and processes on the certain territory. In the work is discussed current heavy situation existing in Georgian regions in terms of demography and causes. Due attention is paid to the extraordinary events of the last decade, which have a comprehensive socio-economic crisis as a result. The mentioned event was adequately reflected in geo-demographic process. In the work is analyzed qualitative dynamics of population, tendencies of birth and death, natural growth of population. The attention is drawn to migration processes, is emphasized its crucial role in establishing demographic processes and demographic situation. The biggest challenge for Georgian regions in the third millennium will be the aging, which will become into significant social and economical problems without preventive measures that should be carried out by state. in accordance with the regions is analyzed the indicator of demographic aging and demographic load of the population. By using Geo-information technologies, in accordance with the regions is presented pictogram maps of population height distribution and in settlements (city-village) in accordance with the number of population.
