Dihydropiridine derivatives are widely used drugs as heart muscle stimulators. Most of those drugs are chiral and only one of the enantiomers is active. Thus, it is very important to analyze their enantiomeric purity and enantioselective metabolism and pharmacokinetics in vivo. For this purpose high-performance liquid chromatography is commonly used technique. The goal of the present work was to separate the enantiomers of chiral dihydropyridine derivatives on various different polysaccharide-based chiral HPLC columns with various normal-phase eluents. The main aim of our work was study of the effect of a chemistry of a chiral selector and composition of the mobile phase on enantiomer elution order.
