The Polish doctor Felix Bokovsky noticed that workers who have worked in caveswere free from the lung diseases. In 1839, he founded the “Salt Spa in Weiliczka”, near Krakow. Today it is the world's largest center for the rehabilitation and treatment. Cave’s salt and fresh water is used for the nose, larynx, throat, bronchial asthma and other diseases.
